How many of you, as little munchkins back then, literally dreamed about getting married flamboyantly in a palace like a queen frolicking about in her red lehenga and lavish jewels? A lot of you, we bet!
Well, this modern day Rajkumari’s wedding that we’re going to take you through this time was exactly that! Anmol Punjabi tied the knot with Indian-born Emirati cricketer Chirag Suri this year at the plush properties of Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur and boy, their wedding photos broke the internet!
While their soiree’s grandiose left everyone agape, the cynosure was unquestionably the bride’s avant-garde wedding looks. In fact, both the bride and groom along with their families went all glamorous in their bespoke couture taking the wedding fashion bar a notch above. And while their looks are worth crushing over, the wedding decor was rather minimal and elegant to let the royalty of the palace outshine!
Let’s dive right in!
About The Couple
Anmol and Chirag met each other back in December 2014. She was studying in Boston at that time and had come back to Dubai for the winter break when they coincidentally met at a night out. The two are very family and career oriented individuals and as a couple too, and enjoy exploring the world together the most.
Knowing that Anmol has a thing for picturesque views and wanted a special proposal, Chirag made sure that he proposed to her exactly that way. The bride quotes, “We were on a trip together in Turkey and at the end of the trip he flew us to Santorini, Greece just for a day. I had a feeling that something was fishy but, I’d never say no to extending a holiday even for a day! After checking in, he rushed me to get ready to “explore the city” before the sun sets. As we sat in the car, the tour guide took us to a mountain top. As I got off and started walking towards the peak of the mountain, I could hear my favorite song “fly me to the moon by Frank Sinatra” playing in the background and it was then that I realized Chirag was going to propose to me!”
Understanding her fine taste of a classic and clear design in terms of rings, Chirag designed the ring himself which of course, Anmol absolutely loved!
