Their Tale

Shikha & Tanay’s families have known each other for two generations and hence, they’ve been family friends since they were kids. But, always only bumping into each other at social gatherings until Shikha visited her sister in Melbourne in June 2017 to help her out with her pregnancy. Tanay, already settled there and a regular visitor at her sister’s, showed her around and that’s when they got talking. After the trip, they started texting and facetiming everyday only to realize that this is meant to be.

The Proposal

A year into dating, they told their parents about each other and since then, all of them had only been talking about getting the two married. In one of the conversations, they came up with Sri Lanka as a wedding location and the couple ended up booking a quick getaway for a recce of the place. It was there that Tanay proposed to Shikha in a special dine by sea setup at Anantara Kalutara with champagne, candles, and tiki torches. Fast forward to July 2019, they ended up tying the knot at the same resort amidst their loved ones.

Bringing the party to life, the couple made their entry alongside kandyan dancers, fire dancers, and drummers. While local percussionists rocked the party with different acts, the families jazzy performances to bollywood numbers were a cherry on top.

The Pheras

The Vrindavan themed pheras, hosted at the Avani Kalutara Pier, were a serene affair to be a part of.
