Cricket; a sport that rules the heart and runs rampantly in the veins of passionate Indians no matter where they are in the world. It's no wonder that when India's sweetheart and ace cricketer Yuvraj Singh announced his engagement to British Mauritian model Hazel Keech, everyone waited with bated breath to live vicariously through the #YuvrajHazel wedding.

The weekend saw a colourful Mehendi, swanky Sangeet and resplendent Sikh Ceremony in Chandigarh; followed by a sunset Hindu Ceremony and Cocktail Evening on the beautiful shores of Goa. The fusion wedding was the perfect amalgamation of tradition and sense of self; with Yuvraj's love for cricket and Hazel's quirky personality at the core of each occassion. Captured by Kartik Bhagat of Dream Diaries, we have all the pictures from their grand wedding for your viewing pleasure.

It all started with the release of their wedding invitations, which immediately set the tone of their fun-filled, cricket themed wedding. Choosing an unconventional design, the invites had caricatures of Yuvraj and Hazel breaking a leg, with a dhol in hand, on the cricket field.

Mehendi

Hair flowing in soft curls, Hazel glowed at her Mehendi in a bright orange anarkali that was laced with intricate silver thread work. The Mashrabiya mathapatti by Astha Jagwani completed the boho look. Her outfit was perfectly coordinated with the setting which was adorned in luscious marigolds. For a groom, Yuvraj opted for a more understated look with a white kurta churiddar, paried with a sweater. We would have loved to see a nehru jacket instead.

Ring Ceremony & Sangeet

The Mehendi was followed by the Ring Ceremony and Sangeet later in the evening. Awaiting at the entrance to greet their guests, Mr. Singh looked dapper in his JJ Valaya sleek black velvet achkan and white churidaar pants. Hazel, also in JJ Valaya, coordinated her look with her husband to be in a black, white and gold gown, mathapatti and peacock earrings. Similar to the Mehendi, Hazel kept her in in big, loose curls and added a polki mathapatti.

The black theme continued with their decor, thanks to Designs By Abhishek - who was responsible for the decor for all of Yuvraj and Hazel's events. With a flower wall as a backdrop for photos, the tables were covered in black and illuminated by bright, peacock coloured florals as per Hazel's preference.

Sikh Ceremony

Once again, both Singh and Keech chose couturier JJ Valaya for their special day. Dressed from head to toe in deep burgundy red, the newlyweds looked like royalty in their bridal attire. We love how Hazel kept her makeup minimal with a dewy sheen look.

Hindu Ceremony

Yuvraj and Hazel's celebrations didn't end there. The Hindu Ceremony saw a change in location. Goa - the land of sun, sand and beaches. It was only natural that the celebrity couple chose to have a beautiful beachside sunset wedding. A rustic wooden mandap adorned with hanging white florals set the mood as Hazel and Yuvraj tied the knot once again as per Hindu rites.

Hazel looked resplendant in a traditional bridal look by Ashley Rebello. Her crimson red Banarasi net saree in old zardosi was complimented by a satlada, choker and mathapatti by Satyani Jewels

Yuvraj, dressed in a beige kurta pyajama and crimson and gold vest and dupatta, made a grand entrance and how! Riding an ATV, Yuvraj led his dancing baraat to the mandap.

Alongside Yuvraj and Hazel's family, Yuvraj's friends and fellow cricketers and Indian film celebrities also joined the joyous occassion. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were spotted, with the latter in a stunning black Sabyasachi outfit. We loved her dark, edgy look with teh slicked hair, dark eyes and statement earrings!

The ceremony was followed by an evening of debauchery - a cocktail evening to host their guests with drinks, plenty of food and their cake cutting and first dance as newlyweds.
