Model Chandni Bhikha is a vision in an elegant, flowy midnight couture two-piece by Gather and Stitch. The iconic Chinatown lighting offsets the rich blue of the couture piece, creating a unique aura as the model strides through the alleyways. Complemented by hair and makeup that defines the model’s brows and cheeks, the shoot exudes confidence with a touch of glamour.

The talented professionals provide an insight on the Chinatown concept and how they brought it to life.

Inspiration and Photography

Jay: I’ve always wanted to photograph in Chinatown; I’m drawn to the neon lights and lively main dining strip. I wanted to tell the story of a confident young woman roaming the city and owning the night. Chandni along with the team at Gather and Stitch brought this vision to life and told the story exactly as I imagined it.

Outfit

Helani: When Jay said he wanted to shoot at Chinatown, we knew we needed to make sure Chandni stood out from the crowd (quite literally). The bold blue couture two-piece complimented the bright blue and red lights that are a signature feature of Chinatown. The electric blue beaded bodice glistened in the lights, supported by the effortlessly flowy skirt - giving the entire look a red carpet glamorous feel.

Hair & Makeup

Helani and Sam: We wanted the makeup to define Chandni’s strong features and be the hero of the look. A signature smokey eye with defined cheekbones and glowing cheeks were key. Prominent brows and a natural nude lip helped finish off the face. The hair was effortless and textured, perfectly complementing the entire look.
