Glamorous Regal Indian Destination Wedding

Tanisha & Nikhar

How we met

Nikhar and I met in high school and became best friends all too soon. It was the clichéd cat and mouse friendship kind of love. Our closest friends always said we would end up together. We never took them seriously though, but one day, things took a funny romantic turn and the rest is history.

About The Couple

My favorite wedding moment

I was walking towards the mandap under a blanket of flowers surrounded by my closest friends, my family by my side and I could see Nikhar and his family at the altar with eyes only for me. I was walking towards my future in the enchanting palatial setting of Udaivilas in Udaipur. It was beautiful, surreal, overwhelming and my most emotional moment.

Wedding Planning & Events

We chose to have a three-day destination wedding at the The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur, India in mid-December 2015. We also had some pre/post wedding events in Mumbai as well:

  1. Mehendi – Family Home, Mumbai
  2. Welcome & Mehendi – Friday PM, The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur.
  3. Sangeet – Friday PM, The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur.
  4. Sajjan Ghot Saturday AM/PM, The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur.
  5. Wedding Ceremony – Sunday PM, The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur.
  6. Reception – Friday PM, Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Mumbai.

VISION & THEME: The Oberoi Udaivilas palace property was already so grand that it did not need themes. We wanted to let the artwork, vibrant colours, lights and a minimal but fun décor accentuate the main features of the property. We worked with event planners Cineyug to help us bring our ideas to life.

PHOTOGRAPHY & CINEMATOGRAPHY: Stories by Joseph Radhik did my photography. They captured every emotion perfectly and I loved that the photos were natural, candid and fun. We hired expert cinematographers Vishal Punjabi and the team at The Wedding Filmer.

Sangeet
