Tying the knot to her love Rohit in a grand and extravagant affair, Aanchal made sure to take those pheras in the outfits of her dream literally by designing her bridal lehenga and fab mehndi outfit. While this is just one of the reasons to fall in love with this wedding, you got to hang onto this blog to see the rest of them for yourselves. Be it the flawlessly apt decor, the happy vibes or the adorable couple, you’ll get hooked to everything, literally!

About The Couple

Their Journey
Aanchal and Rohit met back in 2011 while they were pursuing their MBAs. They knew each other back then and weren’t interested or into each other. They then reconnected 6 years later on Instagram and that’s where it all began.
The bride quotes, “People usually call us “boring” because we don’t party or drink! But I think we are fun together. We enjoy exploring new eateries together, working out together, arguing about film stars and their journeys. :P”

The Proposal
Their proposal is rather different from the rest. Spilling the beans about it Aanchal tells us, “It was on our third date and he was leaving for Goa after that and we took a cab together when I couldn’t leave his hand. The thought of him going far wasn’t sinking in and that’s when he just proposed; in a cab! Imagine my response,”Is it necessary to respond now?” Oh boy! He was yellow faced and completely zapped! After 10 minutes I said yes; kind of had to! ;)”

The Details

Wedding Planning

Ever since the two got engaged, they had envisioned a grand wedding and that is exactly how their revelries came out to be. Planners & decorators KYC Events curated the couple’s dream wedding for them in the most magnificent manner at the Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai. And ace photographer Yogi Trivedi a.k.a Oragraphy framed the entire wedding in the finest and most remarkable of ways.

The Mehndi

Opting for a loud, colorful, and vibrantly all out there theme, the mehndi decor was a perfect blend of ivory bridal seating, multi-hued florals, colorful seating areas, and a printed dance floor with Nuclea’s ‘Bass Rani’ themed quirky backdrop.

Aanchal's Mehndi Look

For the ceremony, Aanchal designed for herself a funky and pretty top and mid-length skirt ensemble. A strappy mirror work crop top with a tassel outlined multicolor skirt paired up big jhumkis made for her look.
While hairstylist Anisha Nagpal gave her romantic waves and embellished them with a cascade of fresh flowers, makeup artist Aanchal Bahl Thakkar gave her a flushed look with dreamy eyes and pink lip.

Rohit's Mehndi Look

To keep up with the vibrant theme of the ceremony, Rohit wore a neon olive green Lucknowi kurta with a golden patiala salwar designed by NM Design Studio.

The Wedding

The decor was done in the hues of lilac and pink prominently for they are Aanchal’s favorite colors. While the mandap was done in hues of lilac with heavy floral and foliage arrangements, the rest of the decor was done in pinks. The gorgeous entrance that led up to a decked up Ganesh murti was lined with huge cherry blossom trees with cascading rajnigandha garlands.

Aanchal's Look

Aanchal’s bridal lehenga was a charming treat to the eyes. Designed in surreal ombre of pinks and replete with sequined embroideries, her lehenga teamed up with a scalloped embellished dupatta was oozing with glam unmatched.
While Aanchal Bahl Thakkar gave her dramatic eyes, naturally flushed cheeks, and hot pink lips, hairtsylist Ritika Kadam decked her up in a huge romantic bun minimally adorned with roses. Stunning polki set with a lada rani haar and pretty nath added that oomph factor to her bridal look.

Rohit's Look

Rohit looked all dapper and classy in a cream and gold Jay Makhija ensemble that comprised of a Lucknowi shimmer kurta topped off with a structured open sherwani and matching safa.

The Reception

Since, it was a cocktail-cum-reception party with an island bar and happening music by DJ Alex, the pink decor was done with hints of shimmer and lit up ambiance. The highlight of the decor was the grand stage that was done in multi-hued florals, gold seatings, lights, and a feathered white floor.

Reception Looks

Rohit dressed up in a black tux with floral print in self designed by NM Design Studio and looked super crisp and stylish. Aanchal, on the other hand, slipped into a bewitching red one shoulder gown by Jay Makhija. The structured ruffles, intricate embroideries, and asymmetrical hem brought about a unique edge to the ball gown. Glorious diamond jewels, bold and glam makeup by Aanchal Bahl Thakkar and flamboyant hairdo by Ritika Kadam completed her look marvellously.
