Mani Jassal’s New Collection “Scorpius” is Every Bride’s Dream

By Divya Arora .

It wasn’t a long time back when the world of weddings was left absolutely hypnotized and swoon over a designer bride’s engagement bash for its soothing aesthetics and the couple’s sartorial looks. Seems like the soon to-be-bride has been on a roll since forever for she’s back with yet another collection that’s her most personal one till date.
Mani Jassal, founder of the designer label by the same name, recently dropped her newest capsule collection ‘Scorpius’ on her birthday on November 1st and has left us spoilt for choices making us all go “waannttt”!!

While her previous collection Tulum, housing forty dreamy & effervescent looks, is a breath of fresh air, Scorpius is an enchanting blend of traditional Indian embroideries & modern silhouettes that will suit every modern bride’s dreams.
For how this collection is a celebration of her own journey as a to-be-bride, Mani herself worked both behind the scenes and in front of the camera curating surreally romantic moments. An intimate bedroom setup brought to life along with The Eastern Bazaar and Ruth Chin Events the entire shoot framed by Vipoo Sitha, is oozing with unparalleled quintessence because of even the tiniest of elements weaved together phenomenally.
“The overall vision for the shoot was to be transported to a mystical, dreamy bedroom,” says Payal Bhakta, founder of the online lifestyle boutique.

Scorpius, comprising six different looks, offers an array of thoughtfully curated pieces that a bride can choose to wear together or separately with other pieces to create a look that’s unique to her. Styled by Kaashni Brar, makeup artist Yasmine & hairstylist Nadia together glammed up Mani in a way that further enhanced her natural radiance. While the outfits are a remarkable mix of minimalism & traditional bridal aesthetics done in crystal-inspired hues, stunning jewels from Rav B Jewellery elevated the outfits by multifolds. So without further ado, let’s unveil the magic that Scorpius is.

Moon Stone

A pristine Ivory chikankari lehenga with mellow badla metal work all over teamed up with a strappy top, this outfit is perfect for brides who want to go all fairytale-ish & dreamy yet not miss out on the bridal charm. Fit for an engagement ceremony or a sundowner sangeet, for how the ensemble has been paired up with oversized polki & emerald choker princess set and gold kadas, you bridey, are unquestionably going to steal the show. Also, we love how her sleek open hair, light smokey eyes, nude lips, and minimal mehndi etched by Divya Patel completes her look flawlessly.

With a heavenly chikankari lehenga in badla work, a sequin border dupatta, and a plain long sleeved blouse, this outfit is the perfect pick for brides who don’t mind unconventional. This lehenga makes up for a apt choice for engagement, sangeet, and even the reception. Mani paires it up gracefully with huge kadas, a sleek rani haar, a polki & pearl choker set, and a matching dainty maang-tikka accessorizing the neat gajra bun.

This edgy crop top & full-length circle skirt ensemble in a striking yellow hue is a sure shot head turner. With the top in an elegant plunging neckline and fun sleeves, this spirited outfit makes it a right pick for an equally vivacious haldi or mehndi ceremony. While an offbeat polki & emerald choker adds the grace, the half bun updo and light-colored eyes unquestionably add that extra oomph to this peppy & happy look.

A stark red mirror work lehenga that can be paired up with any of the classic top silhouettes that the label offers, slip into this on your jazzy cocktail night or your wedding to don a modern yet classic look. To add just the right whiff of traditionalism, opting for a set of gold kadas or your chooda, a royal princess neckpiece with matching baubles, and an old school hairdo like a braid with parandi is how you can go about it. To be honest, we love how this versatile piece can be put together in every bride’s own unique way to weave a look that would surely scream extraordinary.

Rose Quartz

Falling head over heels in love with this romantic and serene look, the charm that it exudes is simply unmatched. Right from the exquisite blush pink lehenga and a cascading choker set to open wavy tresses and minimally flushed makeup, this look is simply soulful. Period. And of course, is perfect for all pre and post wedding ceremonies.

An epitome of simplicity at its best, this lehenga not only makes it to the pre and post wedding lookbook but also the day wedding one especially, the Anand Karaj because the resembling divinity of this outfit with the ceremony isn’t just a coincidence. Team this outfit with matching or contrasting jewels or add a dash of colors, the choice is yours. We however, loved the modern edge of poker straight hair & an oversized statement ring and the traditionalism of light smokey eyes and navrattan jewellery.

What’s more amazing is how at Mani Jassal you can be your own stylist. Each skirt from the Scorpius collection comes with 1.5 meters of matching plain crepe fabric so you can select your own style of top. Choose from seven different silhouettes like a bustier, bustier with sleeves, scoop bustier, scoop bustier with sleeves, one-shoulder top, modest silhouette or a classic MKJ top and voila, you’re frolicking in a look that’s personal to just you!

For how, the brand Mani Jassal is all about striking the right balance between style and comfort and Indian influences with modern edge for the new-age brides, Scorpius undoubtedly takes the millennial bridal dressing bar higher.
