Roma & Jaskaran

Snapshot

We closely remember it was a few weeks ago, when Roma and Jaskaran’s wedding photos surfaced the Internet leaving us all completely hooked. For how the medley of Ivory and red by the ocean ensnared our senses, the aesthetics felt serene, almost magical.

And when we got a chance to go through their wedding shenanigans in detail, we were completely bowled over. Bowled over at how contrasting and unique each ceremony was from the other and yet, they all complemented each other. In fact, in a way that they curated an experience that spoke of grandeur & intimate, vivid & sublime, and spirited & pristine all at once. A classic fairy tale!

And while the ceremonies and the couple’s looks kept amazing us at every turn, the love, hearty emotions, and the romance filled our hearts with so much happiness.

About The Couple

Their Tale

Roma and Jas met each other back in 2013 when he moved to Philippines and she was spending Christmas holidays with her family back home. Their parents knew each other and they met one night over family dinner. What began as friendship soon changed into something more when one random night out he kissed her!

The duo as Roma says, are complete opposites. “He’s spontaneous and I’m not. I love seafood and he can’t stand the taste of it. He loves numbers and i can’t even look at a spreadsheet without crying (lol). I could go on and on.. but it has been a fun journey of discovering, understanding one another and adjusting to each other’s differences. It’s what makes our relationship great.”

And amongst those opposites is their shared love for travelling and they make sure to visit three new places every year!

The Proposal

In September 2018, Jas and Roma were spending Christmas & New Years in Florida with his family & friends. On 25th he surprised her with a note on the Christmas tree that was a trip to Napa Valley. While he made the entire trip special for her, it was on the last day that he finally did it. Jas woke her up at 9 in the morning to take her to wine tasting.

Roma further reveals, “So I got up, wore all black and barely put any make up on and he took me to the most beautiful vineyard I’ve ever seen. I drank wine on an empty stomach before he proposed to me that morning and I cried like a drunk 18 year old when he got down on his knee. It was the best proposal ever.”

The Details

Wedding Planning & Details

The couple hosted their extravaganza at the Al Bustan Palace, Muscat, Oman. The duo visited ten different places before deciding on their venue and well, the palace-cum-hotel struck a chord with Roma’s heart instantly!

Along with the couple’s vision, it was Innaz Communique, Vivaah Weddings, and Mosaic Events that made this celebration for what it was—an opulent & magnificent experience.

And what made this soiree an even more memorable one are the teams of Sam & Ekta and The Wedding Filmer that captured the wedding in its truest essence.

Haldi Ceremony

Keeping it a chiller and a rather informal kinda affair, the day began with a fun and breezy haldi ceremony that was a riot of the heartiest laughs and cheery vibes. For the day, while Jas donned a pretty foral kurta pyjama, Roma radiated in a spectacular Indigo-hued Anita Dongre lehenga.

She teamed it up with a stunning pair of earrings by The Jewel Factor while Natasha Moor & Noko Blora who glammed her up for all the ceremonies left her hair open and gave her subtle makeup.

Pre-Welcome Dinner

The haldi ceremony was later followed by dinner for which the couple switched into their glam evening outfits. While Jas went all casual in a blazer, Roma slipped into an all sequin black off-shoulder 16Arlington dress with fringe detailing.

Dainty cascading earrings by The Jewel Factor enhanced her look further while open wavy tresses and simple yet glam makeup added more to it.

Streets of Muscat- Welcome Dinner

The revelries officially kicked off with a bang with an Omani themed welcome dinner that gave the guests an exuberant experience of the Omani culture.
With stations showcasing the souq market, the Omani fishing village, calligraphy, music, etc., weaved flawlessly with apt decor, the evening stuck true to its theme in every manner.

For the dinner, Jaskaran wore a black Tom Ford suit while Roma slipped into a black Shivan & Narresh multi-layered frill dress. Her striking diamond baubles added that perfect hint of glimmer to her look while half-tied hair and naturally flushed makeup kept it all muted and classic.

Lost in Tribe- Tribal After Party

The dinner was subsequently followed by a tribal themed youngster’s after-party that was one upbeat celebration in itself with DJ Rampa jazzing up the entire ambience.

For the night, the couple got drenched in a whole lot of pep and sass in their Shivan & Narresh ensembles. Jaskaran went all out there in his offbeat Koi Celebration jacket done in multiple prints and hues.

Roma on the other hand, wore a bustier & palazzo set replete with tribal pearl Skeinwork teamed up with a Som beaded chinar leaf sheer cape. Matching pearl jewellery by The Jewel Factor, basic makeup and half-tied braided hairdo stitched up her look perfectly.

An Afternoon in Amalfi- Mehndi

Done in effervescent and rejuvenating hues of yellows, blues, and ivory, the mehndi ceremony decor was a whiff of fresh air that everybody breathed in. Lemons, lots of foliage, and yellow, blue, and white floral arrangements marked the entire place bewitchingly.

Couple's Mehndi Ceremony Looks

The couple chose to twin for the day and donned Shantanu & Nikhil outfits. Roma wore a chic bustier top with ruffled sleeves teamed up with a gorgeously embellished skirt. Beauteous diamond jewellery from Temptations made her look stand out while Noko Blora gave her a tousled hairdo & Natasha gave her a pink lip.

Jaskaran went for contrasting hues of navy for his extended cowled kurta and nehru jacket set and looked all handsome and crisp.

Pride of Punjab- Sangeet Night

“We wanted a colorful, musical and traditional sangeet that showcased our love for Indian culture”, says Roma and hence, the theme of the Sangeet. A classic night of groovy music and unstoppable feet, it was one crazy celebration with a surprise performance by Diljit Dosanjh!

Jaskaran for the function wore a dynamic royal blue bandhgala and ivory dhotis by Shantanu & Nikhil. Roma went all glimmering stealing our hearts in her Falguni Shane Peacock lehenga which she accessorized with a flamboyant diamond & emerald set by Temptations.

Anand Karaj

Basking under the vast open skies, heavenly aura, and against the oceanic backdrop, the Anand Karaj was a magnificently dreamy ceremony. A white setup decked up with colorful floral decor and greens, the pheras literally took our breaths away!

Roma's Wedding Look

For the ceremony, Roma decided to get drenched in the traditional bridal color red, and opted for a resplendent Sabyasachi lehenga.

Adding a tad bit of unconventional to it, she had her hair left open in loose curls while spectacular jewellery done in diamonds & uncut diamonds crowned her look voguishly. Soft smokey eyes and a bold lip complemented her look in a graceful way.

Jaskaran's Wedding Look

Jaskaran complemented his lady in a classic way by donning a beige heavily embroidered Sabyasachi sherwani with a red stole and matching turban.

He finished off his look with a five-stringed kundan and ruby mala that added a dash of royalty to it all.

Royale- Reception

The grand reception after the wedding was the perfect finale ceremony to end the entire extravaganza with. The planners transformed the resort’s driveway and lobby completely bedecking it with class and elegance.

Bespoke table settings curated with glass candelabras, vases, and tableware marked the entire space, while warm lighting, white florals and foliage beautified it all further.

Couple's Reception Looks

The couple went all classic and glamorous for their reception frolicking about in their love-filled yet opulent auras. While Jaskaran opted for a navy three-piece tux, Roma went all classy in an ivory asymmetrical hemmed Mark Bumgarner gown.

Elegant diamond jewellery by Temptations, a bold red lip, and wavy luscious locks elevated her look by multi folds.

Tips From The Bride

  • Book a spa appointment a week before the wedding, and a week after.
  • Designate a bathroom buddy.
  • Wedding planning is stressful and everyone gets involved in the process. Find time with your fiance and go travel once or twice before the wedding where it’s just the two of you and remind yourselves why you are doing this in the first place. That’s the best advice I got.
