An Exquisite Destination Wedding of Snehal & Mahesh
Snehal & Mahesh
The best love stories don’t always come from books and movies. Sometimes fate plays its own role in bringing two people together. That’s exactly what happened with Snehal and Mahesh. Little did they know that from being strangers on a plane they would end up taking an oath to spend the rest of lives together.
About The Couple
How did they meet?
Snehal was traveling from one city to another after signing up for her new job that would need her to move to Hong Kong for good. She boarded the flight and Mahesh happened to be her co-passenger. She knew right from there that there was something special about Mahesh as his presence gave her butterflies in her stomach.
How are they as a couple?
Snehal & Mahesh are a complete combination of hot and cold. They are different and yet so similar. Snehal beautifully describes their relationship as: “He’s the yin to my yang. I am wild while he’s quiet. I push him to fly and he grounds me and humbles me to another level.”
Snehal and Mahesh had been together for over 7 years and yet they never had a formal proposal. They knew to be together just felt right and that’s what mattered the most. When it came to a ring, Snehal wanted something evergreen. She chose a princess cut diamond with a traditional band. She believes that elegance comes from its simplicity and that completely defines her as a person.
Snehal started planning her dream day in 2017 itself and that’s when she came across The Doli Diary who planned her sister in laws wedding. They wanted their wedding to be budget-friendly, a destination wedding that has all the quirks and character of the bride. Snehal took tips and inspirations from Instagram and The Crimson Bride while planning her wedding. She did most of her wedding shopping from Mumbai & Delhi.
They celebrated their love with a two-day wedding at the Holiday Inn, Goa. They chose Fotowalle - The story folks to capture all their special moments throughout the wedding festivities and Lights Camera Dance to choreograph all their special performances.
For the Mehandi ceremony, Snehal was dressed in a rusty orange colored Lehenga with different shades of orange fabric stitched together to make a beautiful Lehenga along with handwork on it. It also had mirrors and intricate details that enhanced its aura. She kept her hair loose and makeup very minimal and natural. Her Mehandi had a story behind it and it was beautifully done by Kinjal. She completed her look with classy Raybans and her gorgeous Mehandi.
Mahesh went with warm tones for the Mehandi as he wanted to match Snehal’s rust orange outfit. He went for a super anti-trend layered red kurta-pyjama by the fabulous Shantanu and Nikhil. It was light, airy and breezy, perfect for a summer, outdoor function and it made him look super comfortable.
They kept the décor fun and lively and Manish Arora Designs executed it so well for all the events. The Mehandi décor was all about neon pink, neon greens and blues. There were colourful pom poms all over the venue and beer buckets tied around with floral swings on the side. It was all so vibrant and colourful.
For the cocktail party which was a black-tie event, the couple was dressed in Gaurav Gupta’s creations. Snehal wore a powder blue/ grey gown that had a beautiful fluffy trail giving her a complete mermaid-like feel. Her makeup artist Jasmeet Kapany and hairstylist Arya Ruchi nailed this look and completed it with a pair of spiral diamond earrings.
Mahesh looked ritzy in a classic black suit with a lot of bling work in black on the jacket. It reflected a sense of subtle drama along with his neat gelled hair.
Mahesh and Snehal together performed on ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ by ‘The Weekend’ and ‘Ude Dil Befikre’ medley. Two songs that depicted Snehal and Mahesh’s chemistry.
The backdrop looked very interesting with their hashtag in black #AboutTimeGagwani. There were these really beautiful small lamps that used to blink on cue in patterns along with fairy lights in the entrance to give it a royal opera feel.
The couple kept their look very modish for the Haldi ceremony. Snehal wore a bright yellow suit along with a fuschia pink banarasi dupatta draped along her shoulders. She completed her look with some family jewellery and juttis from Fizzy Goblet. Mahesh matched Snehal in a vibrant yellow and silver kurta and white pyjamas.
The theme for the Haldi was ‘all things yellow’. There were yellow marigolds all over the venue and a board outside the venue with a message to invite guests to put Haldi all over the couple to make them look pretty at the wedding. :)
Snehal was donned in a classic Sabyasachi Chitrangadha Lehenga in a pastel pink color. You can never go wrong with the beach- pastel combination. It looked so easy and pleasing to the eyes. She wore an oversized choker necklace in dark antique gold color along with earrings and a mang tikka and also pastel colored bangles, pearl and gold payal from Omsons bridal store, Delhi. She kept it neat for her hair and makeup as she had light pinks lips with baby’s breath, pink and white carnations in the hair. A complete modern-summer time bride isn’t it?
For the bridal entry, Snehal walked and danced all the way to Mahesh like a complete bindaas bride. Being a Marathi mulgi she entered on a traditional dhol, tasha and the regal tutaari
Mahesh was dressed in a ravishing ivory sherwani with gold buttis all over and an ivory shawl with a golden border & some handwork. This was exclusively designed by Sabyasachi and he did absolute justice to this outfit. For the pheras, Mahesh went for a white shawl and a pink bandhani cloth. To match Snehal’s attire he wore a pastel pink pagdi and a pastel pink necklace.
For the wedding, they went with a simple rustic mandap that didn’t overshadow their three favorite elements- the sun, the sand, and the sea. They had a minimal mandap with brown, pink and green to it. For the after-party, they kept it relaxed and outdoors.

2. Eat and stay hydrated all the time on your big day.
3. Do not rush with shopping by having a last-minute spree. Give ample time and strictly no shopping during periods. We already go through a lot of stress. Let’s leave the wedding shopping stress on the non-painful days to make informed decisions without being overwhelmed.
