The Magical Wedding of #HereViGo
Gopika & Viraj
At a touch of love, everyone becomes a poet. This seems to be true when it comes to our newlyweds Gopika and Viraj.
Viraj said: “She's the beginning of everything and she's the big bang of my existence, quite overwhelming, indomitable, a touch scary at times and I'm incomplete without her."
Gopika blushed and replied: “Viraj is my soulmate.”
About The Couple
Viraj & Gopika’s proposal story will definitely make you go ‘awww’. On a starry night, Viraj popped the question under the Brooklyn bridge. She said yes, with her eyes filled with joy.
How are they as a couple?
Gopika and Viraj are a perfect match and compliment each other so well. They almost do everything together from travelling to Netflix, laughing together to quarrelling and amidst all of this comes the cuddles and snuggles
Viraj has always been a little alternative, while Gopika is very mainstream. So this is a combination of mainstreamed alternative: a wedding that brings to life the magic of two different worlds coming together.
The couple wanted their big day to be a replica of their love and personality, and decided to do the wedding, the Punjabi way!
For the wedding, they picked outfits that reflected their idea of a perfect wedding: regal, but not garish, classy not ostentatious, and elegant, not overdone. Their photographer Beginnings for you, and the cinematographer Joint Productions captured all the candid moments of the couple.
Viraj and Gopika’s first wedding function clearly depicts that the wedding week was going to be a high-vibe affair. Gopika looked ravishing in a blue embellished Cinderella gown while Viraj wore a grandiose quilted blue bandgala.
They kept the décor very romantic and floral with a lot of shades of red and gold. It all seemed just perfect.
Gopika chose a voguish double-shaded velvet lehenga from Frontier Raas, it was from the color palettes of lavender/pink to wine. She complimented her look with jewelry that had so much of emotional value to it as it was drawn from her family's tijori: her grandmother's magnificent kundan set. She also wore a full gold kalire and a traditional red Punjabi choora. Gopika kept the makeup very minimalistic and it was done by Savleen.
Viraj looked no less than a prince on his big day. He wore a sophisticated printed ivory Sherwani along with a Kalgi on his salmon pink Banarasi silk safa and an elegant golden brooch. His attire had a royal aura to it. He vouches for love and not violence which is why he didn’t carry a sword. His outfit was designed by Indigo.
Gopika and Viraj went with a glorious floral and peach themed décor for the wedding. The entire venue of Hotel Vista looked picturesque and soothing. It was done to perfection and just what the couple wanted it to be.
The Kanyadaan ceremony
The kanyadaan ceremony holds a lot of significance in a Hindu wedding. Gopika’s kanyadaan was beautifully done by her Masi's and mother. They were her support system throughout the wedding.
The highlight of the wedding was the bridal entry that included Radhika Masi's jamala. She not only wrote it but also composed and sang the jaimala for her most loved Gopika.
Gopika’s bridal entry was nothing less than a fairytale one. She wore a 14-feet long peach bridal trail, held aloft by her bridesmaids; her twin brother, walking by her side who held a satin umbrella above her. Beautiful isn’t it?
For the wedding, the couple cut a 6-7 tier cake that was customized to have their wedding hashtag on it along with a picture of theirs as the cake topper.
