She exclaimed, “What if we add another blast to the craziness and just freaking get married too!” And he said, “I’m going to get my haircut, you find a Pandit!”
It was on 26th October that they were to get engaged in a destination soiree at the Queen of Hills—Mussoorie, when just two days before, the duo decided to get married as well on the same day. With their engagement outfits now becoming the wedding outfits and their backup ensembles now being worn for their ring ceremony, both the ladkiwalas and ladkewalas set off for the hills for a celebration that they’d be cherishing for a lifetime.
Set amidst lush greens and vast open skies, Ishu & Rishabh’s wedding was one intimate gala drenched in hearty blooms, pretty pastel hues, and lots of bling! From early morning roka and engagement ceremony to everybody dancing the baraat away in the evening and finally pheras, it was one big party that everybody reveled in to their fullest.
For all the ‘staying away and missing each other too much’ the duo had to go through because of these tough times, they sure made the most of this time of their lives to shoo away ’em #pandemicblues!
About The Couple
Ishu and her family had found Rishabh through a classified ad and the first ever text that he sent to her read, “You better save my number, it’s going to change your life!” She was backpacking through Banaras when they first connected while he was in California. Even before they could realize, minutes of talking turned into hours and hours into night-long conversations. “We never knew when—or even if—and where love will find us but, something was keeping two hopeless romantics entertained and I was loving it,” says the bride.
When the duo finally decided to meet after months, the pandemic had reached its peak and their plan, like Ishu says, “went on a snooze for an unknown period of missing each other.” Regardless, the two had fun over their online chai dates and zoom movie nights when after six months Rishabh boarded a flight in early October to finally come meet Ishu.
The world had stopped moving for them when they first saw and hugged each other. The next two days were spent hanging in, opening gifts, talking, and sipping chai when they both realized that this was it! They proposed to each other the next day…their families met a week after…and the engagement date was set!
