She exclaimed, “What if we add another blast to the craziness and just freaking get married too!” And he said, “I’m going to get my haircut, you find a Pandit!”

It was on 26th October that they were to get engaged in a destination soiree at the Queen of Hills—Mussoorie, when just two days before, the duo decided to get married as well on the same day. With their engagement outfits now becoming the wedding outfits and their backup ensembles now being worn for their ring ceremony, both the ladkiwalas and ladkewalas set off for the hills for a celebration that they’d be cherishing for a lifetime.

Set amidst lush greens and vast open skies, Ishu & Rishabh’s wedding was one intimate gala drenched in hearty blooms, pretty pastel hues, and lots of bling! From early morning roka and engagement ceremony to everybody dancing the baraat away in the evening and finally pheras, it was one big party that everybody reveled in to their fullest.

For all the ‘staying away and missing each other too much’ the duo had to go through because of these tough times, they sure made the most of this time of their lives to shoo away ’em #pandemicblues!

About The Couple

Their Tale

Ishu and her family had found Rishabh through a classified ad and the first ever text that he sent to her read, “You better save my number, it’s going to change your life!” She was backpacking through Banaras when they first connected while he was in California. Even before they could realize, minutes of talking turned into hours and hours into night-long conversations. “We never knew when—or even if—and where love will find us but, something was keeping two hopeless romantics entertained and I was loving it,” says the bride.

When the duo finally decided to meet after months, the pandemic had reached its peak and their plan, like Ishu says, “went on a snooze for an unknown period of missing each other.” Regardless, the two had fun over their online chai dates and zoom movie nights when after six months Rishabh boarded a flight in early October to finally come meet Ishu.

The world had stopped moving for them when they first saw and hugged each other. The next two days were spent hanging in, opening gifts, talking, and sipping chai when they both realized that this was it! They proposed to each other the next day…their families met a week after…and the engagement date was set!

The Details

Wedding Planning & Details

Hosted at the JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa, Ishu and Rishabh’s joyous celebrations are a perfect example of a modern day small wedding. With just their families and closest friends by their side, minimal decor, and easy-breezy wedding looks, the duo tied the knot in the most simplistic yet grand way possible.

For how whimsically Panchhi Events planned and designed the entire celebration, it was only befitting that creative geniuses of Beginnings For You and The Blemished Tales were chosen to capture every bit of it in aesthetic frames.

Whether it was the floral and colorful decor, the wholesome vibe of the soiree, or the couple’s apparent romance and happiness, every aspect screamed close-knit to a tee.

The Engagement & Wedding Decor

Set up outdoors under the balmy winter sun, both the mandap and the engagement-cum-jaimala wreath backdrop were crafted in hearty blooms and foliage. Draped in white, while the mandap was highlighted with moderate floral decor, the hefty wreath boasted of white & light pink flowers and greens.

What added a jolt of colors to the vibe was their balcony ceiling that was festooned with colorful umbrellas and thread tassels.

Engagement Looks

For the ring ceremony, while Rishabh donned a navy blue & white asymmetrical hemmed kurta-churidaar set, Ishu slipped into a finely embroidered peach ensemble from Neha Mehta Couture.

She paired it up with a dainty chain and adorable lotus jhumkis while Komal Parewa gave her wavy hair and Ishu being a makeup artist herself, opted for soft smokey eyes and a pale lip.

Ishu's Wedding Look

For her wedding, Ishu glimmered in a stunning ice blue and pink Shiva Jangra lehenga laden with intricate mirror work and paired with a scalloped dupatta. She accessorized her look with a glorious polki and pearl choker set from Jain Jewellers and a matching maang-tikka by Soni Sapphire.

Soft brown smokey eyes, pink bindi, a pretty lip, and a floral hair bun done by Komal Parewa completed her look flawlessly.

Rishabh's Wedding Look

Rishabh complemented his love handsomely in his dusty blue and Ivory Manyavar kurta and bandi set which he paired with tan shoes.
