About The Couple

Their Tale

Sarmini and Nishanth met each other in medical college in Chennai eight years back. They set out on a journey towards their forever and haven’t looked back ever since. With their engagement fixed, the duo had gone to Arizona, USA, for an e-shoot when Nishanth went down on his knees and proposed to Sarmini.

The Details

Wedding Details

Hosted at different plush properties across Dubai like Palazzo Versace and The Ritz-Carlton, this intimate destination wedding will ideate you the best for your own. While Nishanth hails from Chennai and Sarmini from Toronto, the wedding was originally planned for the groom’s hometown when it had to be re-planned for Dubai with only twenty days left. The duo then took to social media and chose planners Vidira Concept who made it all happen for them and exactly in the way the couple had envisioned.

They wanted their South Indian culture to be reflected in the soiree and the planners made sure to design it in the most aesthetic way with apt hints of distinctiveness.

The revelries were further framed beautifully by photographers EM Photography and cinematographers Safarnama Films. No wonder the wedding keepsakes are absolutely stunning and worth cherishing for a lifetime.

Arabian Night- Mehendi & Welcome Dinner

Hosted at a desert camp, the Arabian Night-themed mehendi-cum-welcome dinner was a riot of all things Arabic. While the camel rides and traditional performances kept everybody entertained, the decor too, was planned accordingly. Canopies and seating areas with aesthetic tapestry, wooden tables with bean bags, and stringed lights made up for the setup.

Couple Looks

For the evening, the duo slipped into matching hues of marsala that was absolutely in sync with the theme. While Nishanth donned a Syed Bawkher bandhgala with cream trousers, Sarmini slipped into an appliqué gorgeousness by Aisha Rao.

She accessorized her outfit with gold jewels from Chopra Sons Jewellers while hair and makeup artist Amara glammed up Sarmini with soft eyes, a popping lip with a matching bindi, and hair tied in messy waves.

Engagement & Sangeet Night

For this evening of making merry, the outdoors of Palazzo Versace were decked up in the most elegant and chic manner by the team of Vidira Concept.

While the abundant use of flowers and greens complemented with pampas, wooden structures, barrels, and table settings made for a rustic setup, the addition of all-lit elements took it a notch above. From bulbs, candles, and miniature bulbs to crystal strings and chandeliers, the choicest of pieces were incorporated to add an opulent touch to the entire setup.

Sarmini's Look

For the evening, Sarmini first slipped into a magenta and dull gold Kanjeevaram from Tulsi Silks which she paired with authentic temple jewellery, half-tie hair and glam makeup.

She later changed into a glimmering navy lehenga by Nakul Sen which she accessorized with dainty diamond jewels by Kirtilals. The team of Amara gave her striking blue eyelids, a maroon lip, and open wavy hair that stitched up her look to a tee.

Nishanth opted for a rather formal look and looked oh-so-dapper in his classic three-piece black tux by Syed Bawkher.

The Day Wedding

As an aesthetic ode to their South Indian roots, a traditional setup was planned in the lawns of The Ritz-Carlton under the vast open skies. An all-rose ombré mandap structure was crafted in hues of orange and red complemented with tubrose garlands and its roof festooned with cascading bells.

Whereas, the hotel’s canopied structure behind the mandap was used as the mandap’s extension and was decorated with bells and hearts, a Ganesha idol, and other brass urlies and elements.

Sarmini's Look

Sarmini walked down the aisle in a red and gold saree by Hamsa Handlooms and paired it with traditional temple jewels from Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers and DM ThangaMaligai. Makeup artist Amara gave her a complementing hair bun, soft eyes, and a red lip that lent an unmatched charm to her look.

The Bride Says...

“I’m forever grateful to all the guests, photographers and videographers who flew out to Dubai during this pandemic from other countries. Our friends and family had put an extra effort in helping us coordinate the event. Special shout out to Vimal Nath who got me my garland within minutes of the auspicious time finishing.

Flowers for my hair did not arrive on the morning of the wedding and I had to use the flowers on my bouquet. Ravneet saved my day by making me a bouquet last minute.”
