The Wedding of a Designer Bride in Tasteful Outfits & Warm Decor

Pratishtha & Shaun

While a designer (fashion or wedding) is always busy curating other people’s dreams, we can’t help but get excited to see them bringing their own to life in the most sartorial of ways. And that’s exactly what happened when Pratishtha, founder of the designer brand Pratishtha – The Label, tied the knot with her long term beau Shaun in an elegantly opulent ceremony.

Their fun-filled wedding extravaganza was a riot of colors while being gracefully mellow and is brimming with the inspiration of all kinds. Be it the bespoke outfits, the themes for the ceremonies or the entire planning and thought that went into weaving everything, all of it is worth penning down and taking notes from.

About The Couple

Their Adorable Tale

Pratishtha and Shaun have known each other for years now, specifically, since they were 12-13 year old. They were best friends for over a decade before they started dating and following into the next organic step of a relationship they decided to tie the knot. Of course, they love doing everything together but what really binds them the most is their shared love for food.

The Details

Wedding Planning

Pratishtha herself was her wedding’s planner, designer, and stylist. Taking help from online portals like The Crimson Bride and her married friends for suggestions on vendors they had worked with, she planned and designed her wedding.

Being the designer herself she also created all her wedding looks and trousseau. Keeping comfort in mind along with the style quotient, she made sure that all her outfits had pockets too. Not just that but she designed her mom, dad, and sister’s outfits as well and no wonder they all looked super stylish and crisp.

The Details

Pratishtha and Shaun’s wedding shenanigans were proper Punjabi ones with an upbeat dhol night, groovy cocktail, a spirited day mehndi, and Sikh Anand Karaj. For as effervescent and lively the entire soiree was, it was captured with equal charm by Beginnings For You (Simran) leaving us photos that speak happiness. The wedding kicked off with a zesty sundowner dhol night at Shaun’s residence decorated by Rudhir Sharma with quirky elements like tassels, jaalis, prints and favor stalls.

Ring Ceremony & Cocktail

Hosted at Royaldale, Chattarpur the theme for the night was Glitz & Glam and the entire decor was done in hues of gold, white, and black. For the ceremony, Pratishtha self-designed her silver lehenga ornamented with stone and crystal handwork. She paired it up with exquisite diamond jewellery, and a pretty bun.

The Mehndi

The day mehndi was an informal intimate function with a vibrant yet modern Ombre look in hues of pink, blue, and yellow.

The Mehndi Looks

Going all offbeat with her mehndi outfit, Pratishtha suited herself with an Indigo blue crop top & palazzo jacket set with thread and mirror hand embroideries done in shade of blue. Doll Up by Sonal Chadha gave her a flushed look and half-tied crown braid hair. Teaming it up with stunning gota jewellery by Fooljhadi, her refreshing look definitely stole hearts.

Shaun, on the other hand, looked crisp in a classic bandhgala kurta set in hues of peacock blue from Amaare Couture.

The Wedding

Hosted at the F&B Flora Farms, Chattarpur, Pratishta and Shaun’s wedding was an eye-pleasing and a soul-soothing sight to look at. With the place decked up in shades of pink and white, floral decorations, foliage elements, and a huge wreath photo booth, the shining sun made it look no less than surreal heaven.

Bride's Look

For her wedding, Pratishtha wore an elegant lehenga in hues of lilac and pink accessorized with a gota hand embroidered belt. A striking polki & pearl choker set, shimmery pink eyes and a bold lip completed her look beautifully. What further amped up her look by multi-folds was the bewitching meenakari mangalsutra. It is an heirloom piece that Shaun’s mom passed on to Pratishtha just like it has been passed on through generations in their family.

Groom Look

Shaun whereas wore a blush pink & ivory embroidered sherwani in jaal pattern from Amaare Couture and teamed it up with pearl mala and a pink turban.

Tips From Pratishtha

  • Do extensive research and make a list with budget for everything.
  • While deciding your outfits or jewellery or footwear keep your comfort in mind as it’s your big day and you will be the centre of attention throughout the functions. Be comfortable yet stylish.
  • Delegate duties for the function days. You yourself can only do so much. On the day of the function give duties to your friends or family as you cannot possibly be handling everything till the last minute
