Their Tale
Radha and Ankit met back in 2010 in India while shopping for a family wedding. They flirted throughout the wedding but decided to not take this ahead as Radha didn’t want to get into a long distance relationship once she goes back to the US. But, like they say, “the heart wants what it wants”, they couldn’t keep themselves away from each other as they had become best friends. And hence, began their journey together with all things beautiful but, coupled with fights, breaks, & flings in between.
In 2016, Radha decided to speak to her parents about Ankit but, they couldn’t be convinced and so, Ankit decided to break it off as he valued her relationship with her parents more.
After almost two years of trying to move on, Radha ended up ringing Ankit out of nowhere which got them talking and Ankit taking a flight to New York to meet her. It led to all those feelings resurfacing leaving them both sad & confused. Before leaving, Ankit left Radha a letter that said, “If given a chance now, I would fight harder.” She mustered up the courage and spoke to her parents again, only this time they took it well and decided to go visit Ankit & his family in UK. And of course, the rest is history.
The two are way too comfortable in their own skins and while he loves staying in and watching TV, she loves being out and about. However, finding a middle ground wasn’t difficult which also allows them to do what the other person likes, together.
The Proposal
Ankit was very spontaneous with his proposal and even though Radha got some hints, he still took her by surprise because she had no idea that he’d pop the question so soon. After Radha & her family’s trip to UK, Ankit flew down to New York and he took Radha to try out a few rings to see what would suit her. Their jeweller in Diamond district, Manhattan, mentioned that he can have the diamond put in a setting in less than 24 hours. And that’s when Ankit thought, “Why wait? I’m going to propose tomorrow!”
And so, he went down on his knees, made a romantic speech in front of hundreds of people in Times Square, and asked her to marry him!
